Hey guys and girl,
I came across an interesting email of my friends who were gg on a grad trip together. They laid out rules and like their personal do's and don'ts, things generally ppl dont know about and most importantly, the stuff you must know to "survive" with that person.
Here are somethings which I feel you need to know. I STRONGLY encourage you to read it. (kinda like a guide to managing my manic mood swings-which i get once a while only...I hope)
1. How to identify a manic moodswing?
- When you see him start to withdraw a little.
- When you see him going quiet when you know he would say something lame.
- When he is one moment super talkative and super quiet the very next moment.
- When his door is shut even though you know he isnt sleeping.
- When he doesn't reply you when you say something.
- When he is blogging
- When his face is like Bao Qing Tian.
*If two or more symptoms pop out, a red flag should go up and you should alert the rest.
2. Why the hell does he have moodswings?
- When he is stressed
- When he is stressed and tired
- When he is jealous
- When he is angry
- When he feels left out
3. Alright, now I know the cause. What the hell should I do next?
- You know he is gonna be super sarcastic at this pt of time. Bear with it.
- Give him a hug (girl), kiss (girl), pat on the shoulder (guys) and ask him whats wrong. He might not say at first, just keep probing.
- Don't shy away from him. Don't let it be unless all the above symptoms in pt 1 are met. If all in 1 is met, its better to just get out of the house.
- Check on him. He hates being alone even though he always want some "me" time.
- Let him sleep over it. Usually he'll be fine over night.
- Cook for him. Make him a cup of tea. Give him a chocolate bar. He is like a kid at this pt of time.
4. Anything I should NOT do?
- Try to be funny and laugh it off. He can't stand smart-alexs during normal times. He loathes them when he is having a manic attack.
- Ignore him. Bad move, he will withdraw even further.
- Confront him and ask him to be a grown up. Seriously, we all need to throw tantrums once a while.
Well, thats about it for now. Just refer to this if you realise something is wrong. I think you guys should write your own "manual" too...I should get back to work.
WOOOOT...
